Biography

Coach Dollaghan started teaching social studies here at ThunderRidge in 2006 and was a part of the baseball program as well. Coach Dollaghan's coaching background has been established on the baseball field. He played 1 year of basketball at Mesa State College and after taking a year off walked on as a 3rd baseman for the baseball program. He was redshirted his Junior year and played the next 2 years in the outfield. "I didn't have the most talent, but I did have the biggest heart." His first Coaching job was at his high school alma mater, Northglenn as the JV coach in 1993. The next year he was named the head coach of Green Mountain H.S. in Lakewood, Colorado and coached there for the next 4 years. He has assisted at several other schools in the metro area; Thornton, Legacy and most recently, Chatfield in 2005. Jim jumped at the opportunity to begin his teaching career and owes his success to his former coach in college, Joe White. With the help and advice of many others he was fortunate enough to find a home as a Grizzly. Coach Dollaghan loves to be a coach and have a positive impact on today's student-athlete. "I remember all the positive and encouraging coaches I've had in my life and reflected how they influenced me and when I saw the opportunity to coach softball, I jumped at the chance. I want the players to come back to the school 10 years from now and feel that they had a great experience." Coach Dollaghan is married to Diana, who is the most patient, caring and loving person he knows. "She is the glue that holds us together, without her strength and support, coaching wouldn't be part of my life." She is also a Colorado native and teaches 4th grade in Littleton Public Schools. They have 2 kids, Addison (who will soon be spitting seeds in a dugout near you) and Matthew (who is already spitting but without much success).
